This is the type note that the most people seem to feel is necessary to obtain. Everyone likes Spread Eagle $100s. There are only 13 serial numbers recorded for this, the earliest variety listed; it bears the date of March 10, 1862. This note is graded VF 25 Apparent for edge restoration and it appears these were not major problems. This note last appeared in a 1998 CAA sale. Today Spread Eagle notes just don't appear in decent condition. This example is very decent.
