Georgetown Bank of Commerce $1
Grade:
PCGS Apparent VF 25
Haxby 70-G12b. June 10, 1862. Broadly margined and fully framed on all sides. Splendid green inks visually impact this note with a central bald eagle vignette and a portrait of Lincoln at lower left. PCGS notes some minor stains which should not bother anybody. The Newman note sold for almost $500 and graded PCGS Fine 12, barely making that grade. This is a solid VF and is, no doubt, one of the nicest, if not the nicest, example you will be able to locate for your collection. A rare note in a rare grade means this should realize a rare price.
