This note was from the Levitan Collection where it was described as: This is a spectacular example of this early countersigned issue with the engraved countersignature of Thomas C. Acton. The condition is absolutely wonderful with the face fully appearing uncirculated. Only upon careful inspection does the back show minor flaws. There have been 18 serial numbers recorded in collectors hands. A couple are even better than this one, but no one would be unhappy with this jewel in their collection. The currency census shows that there are probably two better examples of this countersigned note, but one has not been seen since 1974, the other since 1990. Absolutely a wonderful choice for this important type.
