This is a rare variety for several reasons. One, being the earlier small serial numbers as used on the 1907 issues and the plates make it a mule. The condition is absolutely stunning. It first appeared in a Hickman-Oakes 1989 sale, then in September 2000 CAA also graded it as a Gem CU. It is not slabbed today but no doubt it will be shortly. With the small serial numbers and being a mule, it may be too rare for a non-specialist.
