Florence, First NB, P10998
Fr. 632 $10 1902ND
Grade: VF
Florence, the county seat of Pinal County, is conveniently located between Tucson and Phoenix. It was established in 1866, and there are several different versions for whom it was named. The town became an agricultural community in 1921 after Ashurst-Hayde Diverse Dam was built. It is also home of the Arizona State Prison. There are only five large notes reported and no small notes were issued. This is the finest of the five known. This note has pen signatures of J.B. Brown, Cashier, but the president's signature is not legible. No doubt one of the state's rarest blue seals with only 4,748 total sheets ever printed by the bank. From the Huntoon Collection.
