Grade:

This capital city was home to a plethora of national banks, 12 in all, but only two of them issued Red Seals. A single example of the type is known on the Central National Bank and just three examples have surfaced from this institution, the National Bank of Commerce. Not a scarce bank by any measure, with 42 large notes reported, but there is no record of any Red Seal being offered publicly. Some pinholes and a couple of minor margin splits are the only problems. Engraved signatures of M. Weil, President, and M. I. Aitken, Cashier. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
