Fr. 501 $20 1882BB #1
Grade: VF/XF
There are only a single $10 and $20 Brown Back reported from this bank, although there are 35 large notes reported. This jewel was signed by the vice president and the signatures are wonderful. East St. Louis was initially settled as Illinoistown and can trace its settlement to 1797 with the establishment of a ferry across the Mississippi River connecting it to St. Louis. The name changed upon its incorporation in 1861. It was the organizational center of a major railroad strike in 1877, devastated by tornado damage in 1896 and the stage of racially-motivated labor riots in 1917.
Current Bid: $ 3,500.00
