There are a number of $5 1875 Series on this family bank. Excellent even circulation and color on this example. Signed by members of the Ricker family. Quincy has been the seat of Adams County since its inception in 1825, both named for then-President John Quincy Adams. It gave shelter to both the Pottawatomie and the Mormons in 1838 and aided runaway slaves along the Underground Railroad. Its position across the Mississippi River from Missouri has allowed it to flourish as a major shipping and transportation hub.
