Lot #1516 - Quincy, NB, M3752

National Bank Notes > Illinois

Quincy, NB, M3752
Fr. 600 $5 1902ND
Grade: CU
This was the bank's first title and records indicate 17 large notes reported. This is a nice UNC with well stamped signatures. Only a #1 $5 Brown Back comes close in terms of quality. Quincy has been the seat of Adams County since its inception in 1825, both named for then-President John Quincy Adams. It gave shelter to both the Pottawatomie and the Mormons in 1838 and aided runaway slaves along the Underground Railroad. Its position across the Mississippi River from Missouri has allowed it to flourish as a major shipping and transportation hub.
Current Bid: $ 1,300.00

Estimate: ($ 750.00 - $ 1,500.00)
