Records show five large notes reported from this Henderson County bank, and the only public offering was a similar grade $10 that brought $3,520 in 2000. Evenly circulated and stamped signatures. Oquawka is the county seat of Henderson County and is located on the Mississippi River. In 1827 Isaac Galland built the area's first log cabin on the site known as Yellow Banks, or by its Indian name Oquawkick. In 1836, brothers Summer and Alexis Phelps platted the town and it officially became Oquawka.
