Lot #1220 - East St. Louis, First NB, 11596

National Bank Notes > Illinois

East St. Louis, First NB, 11596
Fr. 705 $100 1902ND
Grade: VF +
There are 31 large notes recorded and 8 are $100s like this one. This note has very well black stamped signatures and decent quality for the grade. The only one I found offered was a Poor-2. East St. Louis was initially settled as Illinoistown and can trace its settlement to 1797 with the establishment of a ferry across the Mississippi River connecting it to St. Louis. The name changed upon its incorporation in 1861. It was the organizational center of a major railroad strike in 1877, devastated by tornado damage in 1896 and the stage of racially-motivated labor riots in 1917.
Current Bid: $ 800.00

Estimate: ($ 1,250.00 - $ 2,500.00)
