A pleasing, well centered and pen signed note. Possibly the only 1 of the 12 large notes recorded is nicer. Kind of vanity signature from this president. Erie was settled in the late 1840s but did not receive its rail stop until 1869 with the arrival of the Rockford, Rock Island and St. Louis Railroad. The town is named after Erie County, NY.
