A nice small size example with the second title. One of 45 small notes recorded. Evanston began as part of Ridgeville Township in 1850, just a few miles outside Chicago. It is the home of Northwestern University, founded in 1851 and whose founders would lead the plan to form Evanston, succeeding in 1857. Evanston declined to become a city in 1869, despite state legislation granting it.
