There are 14 large notes reported on this later chartered Flora bank. These weak purple signatures are tricky to figure out. Flora was founded in 1854 by a local land owner, Samuel White. There was early competition with another fledgling town, Mooresville, just one mile away. Securing the railroad depot, however, meant Flora s eventual victory.
