Flora, First NB, 1961
Fr. 390 $2 1875

VF
A pretty blue-end paper Deuce which is the only $2 on this bank that has 24 large notes reported. There is a slight weakness on the center and quarter folds but it's nice. Signatures of Orman Pixley, President and L.F. Wilson, Cashier. Flora was founded in 1854 by a local land owner, Samuel White. There was early competition with another fledgling town, Mooresville, just one mile away. Securing the railroad depot, however, meant Flora s eventual victory.
