To have a #1 Red Seal from a Los Angeles County bank of this magnitude is amazing, to say the least. This is a one-bank town whose national bank was chartered in in 1906, insuring that Red Seals would be issued. Because requirements were lowered to increase participation of more banks into the system, smaller quantities of sheets were issued. This bank printed 850 sheets of $5-5-5-5 and 680 sheets of $10-10-10-20. This is the finest of the three Red Seals known. It does have a centerfold. This is certainly a trophy note from the Colver Collection that realized $15,400 in 1999.
