This bank was organized in late 1906, possibly accounting for the paltry number of Red Seal sheets issued by this Lake County bank. Two Red Seals have survived from the 840 sheets of $10-$10-$10-$20, and, not surprisingly, none from the 424 $50-$100 sheets. A decade passed before Gary got its second national bank, of course too late for Red Seals. Fortunately, this pretty #1 Red Seal beats everything else known on the bank by a considerable margin.
