National Bank Notes > Indiana

Goodland, First NB, M7863
Fr. 613 $10 1902RS #1
Grade: Fine +
Here is a scarce one-bank town in Newton County. The First National Bank was organized in 1905 and liquidated in 1931. Of the 10 large notes reported, the Red Seal type is represented by this sole #1 $10. Just 1,400 sheets of $10-10-10-20s were printed. Some tiny pinholes and short margin tears are compulsory comments, but the great pen signatures of B.W. Pratt, President and M. Kilgore, Cashier more than make up for the faults. Just two large notes and a few small size have been available on this bank in the last 18 years. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
