There are only 38 examples of a Chicago $500 reported and this one is new to the census. The paper quality retains lots of body and the color is excellent, as well as the centering, although there has been a professional restoration in a tiny spot near the margin. There just haven't been many opportunities to acquire nice looking $500s. In fact, they are generally tougher than $1,000s.
