National Bank Notes > Michigan
Battle Creek, First NB of the City, 1205
Fr. 427 $20 Original
Grade:
Fine
This prohibitively rare Battle Creek bank is represented by this single specimen. This institution, chartered in 1865, stayed in business until 1885 when the bank was liquidated. One of the great Michigan rarities that we are pleased to offer. The note is evenly used with a few inconsequential faults commensurate with the grade. The signatures seem unaffected by the wear and are as strong as the day they were penned. A significant Michigan note that has been off the market for decades until we sold it in the Louis Van Belkum collection. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
