Detroit, American NB, 1542
Fr. 397 $5 Original
Grade:
VG/Fine
This was Detroit's fourth national bank. The bank was chartered in 1865 and closed in 1885 after issuing only First Charters. This was an early Patriotic title, seldom seen earlier. There are only four notes reported, and this is an Original Series $5 with charter numbers. This was the first note to start the DeGood-Falater Collection. Larry recalls John Hickman commenting about how much he liked this title layout. Excellent pen signatures. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
