Detroit, National Insurance Bank, 1433
Fr. 397 $5 Original
Grade: G/VG
This was Detroit's third national bank. It was chartered on July 13, 1865 and liquidated less than four years later on February 26, 1869, making it one of the earliest banks to close its doors. This note, not surprisingly, is unique and likely to remain that way with only 4,250 issued and such an early closing. This also happens to be the only bank in the county with "insurance" in its title. Ex: Grinnell, Lot 1794 and previously from the Lee DeGood Collection. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
Current Bid: $ 6,500.00

Estimate: ($ 8,000.00 - $ 15,000.00)
