This was the 12th national bank that was chartered in Detroit. It began in 1887 and lasted until 1902 after issuing only Brown Backs. This note represents one of the state's few private-name titled banks. The census shows 13 notes reported, with only one single note appreciably better. This example is problem free, evenly circulated and with lovely signatures of F.N. Hayes, Vice President and H.L. O'Brien, Cashier. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
