This was the 11th national bank chartered in Detroit; the 10th is unreported. The Third National Bank was chartered in 1886 and closed less than eight years later, after the Panic of 1893. Only 6,377 sheets were printed, with two survivors. This rare note, previously from the DeGood collection, is a beauty. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
