Grade:
VG/Fine
The current number of Red Seals known on Colorado stands at about 53 pieces, of all denominations. Only three of them are from this bank. This example comes from a Red Seal sheet issue of 4,050 sheets, issued during the bank's early days of existence. By the time the bank had finished ordering 1902 Plainbacks, over $1,000,000 in large size notes had been printed. The Red Seals from 1906 and 1907 had been nearly forgotten. At least this evenly used example survived for your pleasure today. The First National Bank of Canon City also issued Red Seals, but none are known. Clear pen signatures of G.A. Baker, Vice President and D.L. Cooper, Casier. Just 14 examples of all types are recorded on this large-only bank. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
