CA-309-1000. This denomination is not listed in Schingoethe. Black, white and green on both obverse and reverse. Nearly identical in appearance to CA-309-5, but, curiously, it is about 1/4" longer. This note also has a different geometric pattern on the left and right of the reverse text. Careful inspection shows that this extra length most likely was necessary to accommodate the much wider denomination. A remarkable, attractive $1,000 note from California.
