Grade:
PCGS Abt. New 53 PPQ
This new to the census Large Brown Seal $20 Gold exhibits eye-popping colors and paper originality that won t quit. There is not a bit of soil or oxidation of the inks and the gold back has that deep orange color we all love. Two light vertical bends away from Superb Gem. The margins and front to back registration are phenomenal. Early Gold Certificates with grade like this just don t appear very often. The best we have offered recently was a flat PMG XF 45 with three vertical folds which sold for $21,850 at the 2011 Memphis sale. This note is easily the second finest example extant, bested only by a PMG 66 EPQ, which sold for $129,250 last January. Obviously not worth that much, but a result within our range would not be a surprise.
