I adore these early Gold Certificates with the brown seal and brown serial numbers. This beauty has great color on the front and a deep orange-gold back. There is a tiny bit of surface soil commensurate with the grade, but those surfaces are totally natural with no signs of cleaning or pressing. The margins are full and even and untrimmed. Leaving off the PPQ was either an oversight or it was a very close call, perhaps open to further consideration. The only thing I see that might have tipped the scales are the soft corners and the worn spot in the top margin. Hardly enough to keep anyone from placing a bid on this scarce note. In the top half grade wise of the 26 reported examples.
