A spread-winged eagle completes the scene. A female figure, variously identified as Commerce and Hope, standing beside two bales of cotton, leans upon an anchor in the lower left corner. Heavy soiling and several small stains present. Minor paper loss at the top and bottom center. Cut cancelled upon redemption.
