I'm not sure I can fully describe the magnitude of the screw-up to the appearance of this $1 bill. George Washington's head was severed vertically with the fold that occurred during the second printing which caused just under one-half of him to be on the back of the note. It was then opened for the third printing leaving a big, blank area. This is not your average printed fold over error.
