Jefferson City Missouri Defence Bond $3

Remainder. A defense bond issued by the Confederate government of the state in the early 1860s. This government moved frequently, starting in Jefferson City, where these bonds were first issued. It then moved to Neosho, then to Cassville, and finally ended up in Marshall, Texas. A neat piece from the famous "border war" that started the Civil War.
