Colonial Currency > North Carolina
NC-156f $1/2 April 2, 1776
Grade:
PCGS Apparent VF 25
One of the most fascinating issues in all of Colonial Currency with only two complete sets ever assembled. The Fractional denomination notes are tough to find with any kind of grade which makes this enormously margined piece a real treat. PCGS notes damage and repairs and design redrawn. There are eight different $1/2 notes with different vignettes; this one has the 'GL' monogram and it is one of the scarcest ones. Newman values this at $1,500 in VF and we're not sure that he's wrong.
