SC-99 10 Pounds June 1, 1775
Grade:
VF
The eye appeal of this piece is exceptional from the front. The note has the appearance of a solid VF with ample margins, five bold signatures and the vignette and motto clearly printed. The back shows a tape repair strip as well as some other minor tears and repairs. Essentially all notes from this issue are heavily problemed since the paper was large and thin so when folded it began to get damaged immediately. This is actually a well above average example from this scarcer South Carolina issue. Newman lists problem free VF notes at $1,000 and if actually free of problems it would be worth well in excess of that.
