Very Desirable Vermont Colonial
Colonial Currency > Vermont
VT-2 1 Shilling 3 Pence February 1781
Grade:
PCGS Apparent VF 20
The colony that is technically not a member of the original Thirteen Colonies but whose notes have always been the most desirable of all Colonial currency. Very scarce due to the fact that the Legal Tender status of this issue was revoked after only a year but notes were subsequently redeemed for tax payments and then burned. Simply a stunning example that has three huge margins and razor sharp corners. PCGS notes multiple repairs which is certainly true enough of virtually all Vermont notes. A wonderfully printed and boldly signed example with the motto 'Vermont Calls For Justice' surrounding the Scales of Justice emblem at left. Almost always a five-figure note unless a real piece of junk which this note certainly is not. An impressive addition to any Colonial currency cabinet and one which immediately becomes a showpiece that gives its owner bragging rights not held by other lesser beings.
