Although high grade notes are certainly available for this second codfish issue, it is always a pleasant surprise when we see an example such as this one. An evenly circulated VF note that possesses superior printing quality, excellent centering and the bold signature of Thomas Dawes. Thomas was from the famed Dawes family in Massachusetts, whose members included William Dawes, the patriot who took the land route on the famous Midnight Ride.
