Fr. 1259 10c Fourth Issue

This interesting Fourth Issue note has a distinct maroon colored seal. Occasionally seen on notes of this type, it is thought that the ink was unstable and gradually changed color over time. Tom O'Mara thought enough of this anomaly to include an example in his collection, where it was cataloged as a Fr. 1259(a), and sold for about 50% more than a standard note. PMG has minor Thin noted on the holder. This refers to an inclusion that fell off the note after it was printed, leaving a tiny white spot at the left.
