The Richmond $20 Red Seal still qualifies as rare even with this new addition to the census. Even though the count now stands at nine, examples are exceedingly difficult to come by. According to our sources only three notes have been offered at auction in this decade. There may have been a stray appearance in the 1990s, but if you were not around to buy it, that hardly counts. We sold a very similar note a year ago for nearly $5,500.
