Fr. 955b $20 1914RS Cleveland
Grade:
PCGS Ch. Abt. New 55 PPQ
The $20 denomination of these Red Seals is far tougher than either the $5s or $10s. This crackly fresh and original note is every bit as nice as its sheet mate that sold last year as part of the Tom Flynn Collection. That piece was graded by PMG as 55 EPQ. It opened at $1,950 and soared to the nose-bleed level of $13,000 before the hammer fell. Since then the market has changed and the census has increased from 27 notes known to a current 33. I can be fairly safe in saying that this note won't reach its previous heights, but I would expect a strong price will be obtained for the current conditions. Ex: Paul A. Klinkert Collection.
