Douglas is located in Cochise County in extreme southeast Arizona, out by Bisbee and Tombstone. This town was settled in 1901 and the national bank came along in 1902, just after being named for Dr. Stewart Douglas who later became an assayer for the Copper Queen Mining Company. There are only four state notes reported and the issue was approximately 12,000 sheets. The only note I handled was the red seal territorial from Amon Carter and then on to Richard Dreger some 20 years ago; it later sold with Dreger's red seal collection. The signature of B.A. Packard is easy to see but the cashier, which may also be a Packard, is well printed, but I just can't see what it says. From the Huntoon Collection.
