Blue Earth, Farmers NB, 7641
Fr. 1801-1 $10 1929T1
Grade: XF +
A lovely note from this Faribault County bank. Signed by Frank E. Putnam, President and F.H. Davis, Cashier. The name comes from the river, which was given the Dakota name "Mahkota" (meaning Blue Earth) for the blue-black clay found in the riverbanks. Local landmarks include the nation's largest statue of the Green Giant. Blue Earth claims to be the birthplace of the ice cream sandwich. A great town name from southern Minnesota. This note is among the nicest known.
