Whitefish, Montana was the home to an old-timer in Montana national bank collecting, Milt Sloan, who was the postmaster for years. I don't know exactly how these beautiful #1 notes came out but they did and it's been a long time. Last March we sold a similar note for $9,200 in heated bidding. Before that it was 2004 when we offered another and two years before that the Type 2 #1-6 sheet realized $23,000. What I am saying is these are great and in demand. The #1 Montana small size are few and far between. How can you get a better one?
