Lot #1525 - Ravenswood, NB, M10215

National Bank Notes > Illinois

Ravenswood, NB, M10215
Fr. 602 $5 1902ND
Grade: VF
This is a very rare Cook County bank with only six large notes reported. There have only been three public offerings since 1995. In 2003 a Fine realized $3,450. Even circulation and excellent pen signatures. Ravenswood was planned in 1868 by a group of real estate speculators in Chicago as an upper-class commuter suburb. The founders struck a deal with the Chicago and North Western Railroad to run track there in exchange for a guarantee of passengers. Although it was a wealthy suburb, there were no sewers until 1889, as the neighboring community would not let them build sewers under their town.
Current Bid: $ 3,500.00

Estimate: ($ 2,000.00 - $ 4,000.00)
