A beautiful pen signed note from this Monroe County bank with only seven large notes recorded. Excellent color and signatures. Columbia, also near St. Louis, was platted in 1820 and settled in the coming decades by primarily German immigrants. It was incorporated in 1859 and received its first railway access in 1868.
