There are exactly three large notes recorded on this very rare Lee County bank. Neither of the other two large size have been available in 20 years. Clear pen signatures. The first post office was erected in Compton in 1841 under the name Melugin Grove, after the area s first settler. The name was changed in 1873, two years before the town was incorporated.
