Palestine, First NB, M8892
Fr. 626 $10 1902ND
Grade: F/VF
Yes, it's rare with only four large notes reported. A decent and evenly circulated note with an interesting town name. Excellent pen signatures of P.W. Cobb, President and Wm. O. Richey, Cashier. Palestine is located in Crawford County. French explorer Jean Lamotte first came to the region in 1678. He gave it the name Palestine, as it reminded him of Palestine, the Biblical land of milk and honey. Palestine was chartered in 1811, and was the county seat of Crawford County from 1818-1843.
