Grade:

A very rare town in Shelby County and the bank shows only three large notes recorded, and according to Track & Price there are no auction records. The note has a nick at the bottom and some dirt on the back but the pen signatures of J.W. Conrad, President and B.B. Pratts, Cashier are clear. Cowden is a village in Shelby County platted in 1873, under the direction of H. M. Cowden, for whom the prospective city was named.
