A lovely, fresh pen signed note from this Grundy County bank with 11 large notes recorded, with appearances being very few these days. Officer signatures of A.G. Perry, President and F.L. Root, Cashier. Gardner is a village in Grundy County. It was named for its founder, Henry C. Gardner. The history of Gardner begins with the building of the Chicago & Alton Railroad through the site, in 1854. Gardner was incorporated in February, 1867.
