A lovely Blue Seal from this White County bank that has nine large notes recorded, with this note likely the second best note known. The signatures are somewhat weak. Enfield was organized in 1853 but settlers had established mills in the area as early as forty years before. There is some dispute as to the origin of the name but it is most likely named for a town in England.
