This is a beauty with the second title layout, April 23, 1928. There are only seven large notes reported and none appear better. Stamped signatures of Owen N. Custer, President and C.N. Brown, Cashier. Settlers first arrived in what would become Galesburg in 1836 and by 1837 had established the first anti-slavery society in Illinois. It was the site of the fifth Lincoln-Douglas debate as well as the birthplace of poet and author Carl Sandburg.
