This bank was chartered a bit later and they saved this lovely #1 $10 Brown Back with amazing pen signatures. There are only 10 large notes reported. The note does have three light folds. Danville s land first went up for sale in 1827. By the 1850s it had become a center for industry and coal mining as one of the first uses of open pit mining. It suffered after World War 2 with the closing of the mines and the departure of much of the industry.
